Historically it is known that William Shakespeare and Damien Hirst had both lived in Shoreditch, for a while. A lot of rebuilding and planning has taken place after the area was destroyed by bombing, but many of the original warehouses remained till late in Shoreditch.

Once a stronghold  for artists and musicians of the past, Shoreditch today, is popular with financiers and lawyers, and many other professionals. In the 1980s, Stirling Ackroyd played an integral part in the regeneration of the area, and you see today; newly built contemporary apartments and office blocks including a diverse range of galleries, boutiques, business properties, bars, restaurants and beautiful architecture and entertainment in Shoreditch.

The Shoreditch Triangle situated in the heart of Shoreditch, includes  an area full of period warehousing conversions. In Hoxton Square too, you will find spacious warehouse conversions and new apartments with some of London's coolest bars on the doorstep. In Columbia Road and surrounding streets, you can see beautiful Victorian cottages, surrounding the ever-popular flower market.

The East London Line extension, currently under construction, will link the southern suburbs directly to Shoreditch and will  serve to enhance the areas services.
