The redevelopment plan of the London’s Kings cross property by the Argent Group. The redevelopment plan worth 2 billion pounds or 3.47 billion dollars got approval from the city’s mayor.
This moved the king cross estate property project closer to the construction which is due to start in 2007

The new in the construction in the king cross property will be 50 new and important buildings, around 1946 homes and somewhat about 250 businesses around the king cross property and St. pancreas train stations bringing it to total construction on an area of about 67 acres or 26.8 hectares.

This project is supposed to be the largest of used industrial land development also known as largest brown field in Europe. London is supposed to have property of highest rend paying in the world for office space, along with the biggest downfall in the vacancy rates the previous year. This is considered to be a major new construction in the city. The king cross estate agents say that it will be a  highly sustainable development in Europe’s most accessible transport, which will also help in using renewable energy and also help in carbon reduction. The owner of the King’s cross property is London and continental railways, along with Exel plc, hired Argent to develop the area in 1999.

It is all upon the UK government to decide if it will approve of the project within duration of 21 days. Also if approved, the developer must communicate with further details with the local Camden borough government, as told by an Argent spokeswoman. The work on this project is supposed to start after renovation of the St. Pancras train station which is to be completed next year. The station will become a hub for Eurostar, the train service between London and Paris.

The King's Cross area, which was earlier the hub for crime, drugs as well as prostitution, will be able to get affordable houses, public areas as well as environmental features such as the wind turbines used to generate power. It will be like a rebirth of the city, as the rail terminus will be a major entrance to London.
